From 16th June the borders to Austria are open for citizens from EU, Schengen and Switzerland

Austria is currently in a phase of gradual, secure and monitored re-opening. The gastronomy sector and museums have opened on 15 May, accommodation facilities and recreational operations on 29 May. Borders to a number of neighbouring countries have been open since June 4(see below for details). On June 16 the same restrictions will be lifted for all remaining EU countries except for Great Britain, Sweden, Spain, and Portugal. For most countries however, cross-border travel is still strongly discouraged or impossible. Please check both Austrian and local regulations before booking a trip.
